AOP Listrac-Médoc

Château Fourcas Dupré 2015

€680 Flacon de 10cl

2015 was a good year for Listrac-Médoc producers and this vintage has a lovely deep red colour with a pinkish rim. The nose is rich with distinctive forest fruit aromas, especially blackberry, followed by delicate notes of oak. A rich and supple mouthfeel makes this a very nice wine, with a beautifully fruity texture and a delicate touch of oak. In terms of food, a springtime appetizer of mozzarella, tomato and Parma ham or a steak grilled over vines will work a treat.

Lying 42 metres above sea level, between Moulis and Saint-Julien, Listrac is known as ‘the rooftop of the Médoc’. At the heart of this appellation, we find the Château de Fourcas Dupré, home to a 46-hectare unbroken stretch of vines. The soils of the estate are a surprising combination of pebbles, clay and limestone. These natural conditions are ideal for the vineyard’s four grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Since September 2019, Lucas Leclercq, the former technical director of Saint-Estèphe’s Château Lafon-Rochet, has been in charge at Château Fourcas Dupré.
